Terms and Conditions

NZSL Direct is a service provided under Seeflow, the NZSL translation division of Deafradio, a New Zealand-based organisation. These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the NZSL Direct platform. By submitting a video through this service, you agree to the terms below.

1. About the service

NZSL Direct enables you to contact participating organisations by submitting a video message in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL). Your video is translated into written English by the Seeflow translation team and sent to the organisation concerned.

2. What you agree to

By using NZSL Direct, you agree to:

• Submit videos that are genuine, relevant and legible.
• Not upload content that is illegal, or threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or harmful
  to our translation staff.
• Permit Seeflow to translate your NZSL message to English and pass on the translation to the organisation concerned.
• Only share personal information that is yours or that you have permission to provide

We reserve the right to reject or remove any message that breaches these terms.

3. Your details

• Your real name is required so the organisation can identify and respond to your
  message. As video messages include your face, anonymous use is not supported.
• Your email address is required. The Seeflow translation team may need to contact you if clarification is needed to complete the translation. The organisation you are contacting may use your email to reply.
• Your phone number is optional, but if provided may help us with easier communication if required.

4. Translation disclaimer

We commit to making every effort to translate your message accurately and clearly. However, Deafradio (via Seeflow):

• Is not responsible for how the organisation understands or acts upon the message
• Cannot guarantee specific outcomes as a result of your submission

5. Intellectual property

• You retain ownership of your original NZSL video
• Deafradio (via Seeflow) holds the right to create and deliver the English translation to
  the organisation concerned
• Your video and translated content will never be used for any other purpose without
  your written consent

6. Data handling and privacy

Your personal information and video will be handled in accordance with our [Privacy Policy] and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Data is stored securely and retained only as long as needed to deliver the service.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any updates will be published on our website. By continuing to use NZSL Direct, you agree to the most recent version of the Terms.
